Concerns over the Michigan Department of Agriculture's (MDA)
policy of destroying healthy ash trees
Update April 2, 2005
To find out what the Michigan Department of Agriculture is Doing to Michigan's
ash trees please read Who's doing this website and
why?
Why is the Michigan Department of Agriculture (MDA) destroying
healthy ash trees on private property and how did they get the right to do
that?
So, what's wrong with the MDA's interpretation of the
law which he says allows him to declare the ash tree a host plant nuisance
and to have it eradicated?
How else can the MDA fight something like the EAB?
Why do Michigan Acts 189 of 1931 and 72 of 1945 cover
the same things?
In what section of the state did the MDA say they
wanted to do an eradication?
Within what boundaries of a section of the state
did the MDA determine an eradication should be done?
Was it really an eradication that the MDA Ordered?
Was the MDA supposed to treat trees before destroying
them?
Was the MDA supposed to pay people for healthy trees he
destroyed?
Is the MDA really doing an eradication?
Conclusions
Here's some other legal issues that the Michigan
Department of Agriculture might want to look into
